The Church of Sweden in Huskvarna is looking for an assistant minister

We are now seeking a priest for a 100% position at Huskvarna parish with primary placement in Huskvarna congregation

About the parish and the community

The Huskvarna parish consists of the congregations of Huskvarna and Hakarps.

About 25,000 residents live in the parish, of which more than 10,000 are members.

We have around 80 employees working in parish activities, cemetery and property management, preschool, and operational support.

We work based on the vision of creating “Meetings with Meaning”.

The parish's work is characterized by close collaboration with other community actors, contributing to the church having a strong presence in the city.

Huskvarna is beautifully located by the southern shore of Lake Vättern, close to both picturesque countryside and rapidly growing urban environments.

Huskvarna is part of Jönköping municipality.

The Vätterbygden area has a geographically advantageous location that allows commuting to several other larger cities.

About the position

The position is part of the team that organizes priests and caretakers.

It is also part of the Öxnehagakyrkan work team.

Öxnehaga Center is a multicultural center, and many people come to the church daily for conversation and prayer.

The church has been a natural presence in the area since Öxnehaga Center was built in the 1970s.

The area is now in an exciting development phase, and we want to be part of that process to continue being the present church in the center.

Here we celebrate services with people from different Christian traditions, and the mass is central.

Pastoral care and conversations are in demand.

The other major part of the position involves being a priest in the confirmation work team.

There are several experienced employees as well as a large number of young leaders.

The confirmation work is shared among the parishes and is mainly located in Huskvarna center where the secondary schools are.

The work offers great potential to reach young people, and we actively work to increase the number of confirmands.

You enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues while also being self-driven and pushing the work forward.

You are an engaged and creative person with a desire to develop the parish's work.

You have good communication skills.

Responsibility and flexibility are your inherent traits.

You handle stressful work situations and have strategies for setting boundaries.

Qualifications

• Ordained within the Church of Sweden
• Experience in parish work
• You express yourself well in the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Necessary IT skills
